Michelle McAlister is an award-winning writer of manuscripts for children and young people and long-form narrative travel stories for grown-ups. She draws deep inspiration for her writing from the high drama of the English Late Middle Ages and the fantastical legends of Celtic lore. She sometimes writes under the pen name of M.D. McAlister.

Originally from California, she has lived in Italy, France, and the UK, speaks 4.5 languages, and has walked, shuffled, and hobbled on foot for over 2,000 miles on the Camino de Santiago.
